Introductions
Merry meet!!
I'm Mary Jane; I'm 22 and I live near Niagara Falls, NY. Umm... I like to write, paint, crochet, play on the internet, and do yoga. I've been called a ska-hippie for many years, haha.

Re: Introductions
Merry Meet everyone. I must admit to being a bit on the hippie side as well. Anyone else here love The Dead? And I love beading and macrameing.

Re: Introductions
Much welcome to Kate & Bastet ![]()
I'm more of a Doors / Pink Floyd person, myself - not too big on the Dead, except for their cute lil bears ![]()
Jim Morrison's poetry has inspired me quite a bit (well, most of it)...And The Wall just takes me aay to a different world altogether, hehe. As well as many other PF songs - I used to meditate to "One of These Days" a lot when I was in high school.

OMG the Doors is awesome. Absolutely love them. Jim Morrison was way before his time. He was way out there doing what he wanted and sometimes I think he was persecute for it as well. HI, my name is Matthew and I live in Greenville, NC. I am 27 years old and live in eastern North Carolina. I work as a 911 Dispatcher. I love to read, paint, and study different forms of divination. As of right now I am very much into the I Ching. I look forward to meeting you all.
Blessed Be

Re: Introductions
The Doors are one of my absolute favorites. But my dad is a Dead-Head and I grew up loving them too. My favorite song is Riders on the Storm (which may be why my aim sn is StormRiders1208
)

Welcome & merry meet , Matthew!! ![]()
The Doors f***in' rock!!!
I think my favorite song is their cover of House of the Rising Sun. I don't know why, but it sends chills up my spine ![]()
I like Riders on the Storm, too, but I have to be super duper mellowed out, or it has to be raining in order for me to listen to it straight through. I may, however, download it right now & try it for meditation. Thanks for the idea ![]()

Re: Introductions
All of those Doors songs are good but my favorite by far would be either "People Are Strange" or "Light My Fire". Those are my absolute favorites. What do you yall think about Jim's philosophies on life? I am just curious.
Blessed Be,
Celestial Flames

Re: Introductions
People Are Strange would be my second favorite. Followed closely by The End.

Re: Introductions
I'm so a hippie witch it's not even funny. My whole band are a bunch of hippies even if we don't always sound like it. I think three hour jams on the same song definitely qualify. I a big camper, I grow my own vegetables and I aspire to live in a big bad cordwood/cob house. I'm thinking of starting a witch's green building group, but maybe we could just do that here. Anybody got questions on alternative building practices? I know a fair bit. Maybe there's someone else who does too.

Re: Introductions
I'm Audrey. I'm a mom to a great 7yo boy. My husband and I farm near a tiny community in VERY rural western Canada. I'm also a librarian and have a few other side jobs. We have always homeschooled our son.
I've been a pagan for 15+ years. Dh has been a pagan, he says, always. He was raised Catholic, but apparently "it didn't stick." LOL
We farm mostly grain and oilseeds, and have some alfalfa and a small U-Pick berry operation (strawberries and raspberries) as well. We also have an assortment of livestock, a small group of barn kitties, a LGD, and two indoor kitties.
I must be a hippie because everyone always refers to me that way, and the townie ladies did ask me to teach cooking classes (their recent request was specifically for a "hippie food" class.) LOL!

That's funny! My boyfriend is studying to become a librarian.
Nice to meet you!

Re: Introductions
Greetings! As I mentioned in the other thread, I am so glad to meet a group of people that think like me!
I'm 24, served in the Navy for 5 years, and now I am moving to Washington state to be near my mom again.
I grew up wearing tie dye and bell bottoms, recycling, camping every summer, and generally being a peaceful person. In high school, I was the class hippie, and I loved it.
I try to live eco-friendly (bring my own bags shopping, recycle, purchase things which cause the least amount of waste), including my resolve to never drive. I never drove as a teenager, then I never needed to while in the Navy. Now that I am 24 and have never driven, I feel I can do just fine in life without ever being behind the wheel of a car/truck/etc. Now don't get me wrong, if I can ever afford a motorcycle, or even just a scooter to start, I will so be on that. It just makes sense.
Okay, enough rambling from me. One last thing, I prefer Pink Floyd to all the bands previously mentioned. Don't know why, I just always have.

Re: Introductions
Hi yall
My name is Bobby I am 28(very soon to be 29) I live with my wife and 2 yr old son in SW VA. I am not really sure what I am! I have some very hippish ideas but then some of my ideas go completely in other directions. I am definately Earth centric and more of a homesteader.
We live in a beautiful house on 5 acres of land set way off on the crooked road in the celtic appalachians. We have several fruit trees, we garden, we raise chickens for meat and eggs, and have 2 dairy goats getting ready to give birth, so we may be raising some goats for meat as well. we want to raise most of our own food, be completely energy independant and homeschool are son.
My path is definately colored by my homsteading, I am somewhere between celtic wicca and appalachian folk magic, if you can define that!
Anyway I cannot wait to get to know all of yall and look forward to lots of chats. Thanks for being here and thanks for letting me join in!
Bobby

Re: Introductions
Hi Everyone - my name's Shaz and I'm a 34 year old traineehippywitchcowgirlgothbikerchick, who lives in jeans, gypsy skirts, Docs, cowboy or baseball boots. I currently live on the Isle of Man with my fiance and my son & daughter, though I'm originally from Belfast in Northern Ireland.
I'm a solitary hedgewitch, trying to be eco-friendly. I love getting back to nature and most crafts: tye-dye,knitting,scrapbooking,making my own jewellery and beading, and painting anything that sits still long enough!
Unfortunately I was born at the begining of the 70's so I missed all the cool clothes and stuff and ended up with all those embarassing things that we all curse our parents for making us wear. But I made up for all that (and forgave my mum!) when I hit about 14 and discovered a pokey little hippy shop in a back street of Belfast. I died, went to heaven and found my calling and so became the person I am today - not quite an embarrassment (yet!) to my children but loving every minute of it!!!
